Versailles 1

Château de Versailles was principally built from1664-1710 and became the largest palace

in the world.  King Louis XIV was the first French monarch to occupy it.

The most significant event in modern history that involved Château de Versailles was the

signing of the Treaty of Versailles in the palace's Hall of Mirrors, which ended WWI in 1919
