This lovely 84 year old lady went out of her way to express her undying gratitude to Americans for our loss
of 130,000 troops during the defense of the Philippines in WWII. She was in Manila when Gen. MacArthur
came ashore (both times), she watches Fox News religiously, subscribes to Time Magazine, and
prays for President Bush every day. She says she considers it her personal mission in life is to see that
younger generations of Filipinos appreciate all that America has done for them.
This is a traditional garment from Muslim Mindanao known as
a malong. This particular design comes from Cotabato.
